Top Five Ways to Get Ready for Legalweek 2023

February 14, 2023
Legalweek, the largest legal conference and tradeshow, is coming up soon. With so many vendors, exhibitors, networking opportunities, and sessions, it can be hard to know how to prepare. Here are our top five ways to help you got the most out of the conference.

Legalweek – the largest legal conference and tradeshow in the world – is just a few weeks away.

From March 20th to 23rd, tens of thousands of legal professionals will gather at New York Hilton Midtown to network, discuss the changing legal landscape, and attend educational workshops and sessions on topics like blending profit and purpose and how to ensure your client’s data protection.

The highlight, for many attendees, is Legalweek’s vendor exhibition hall, where attendees can demo and learn more about the best software suppliers, service companies, and consultants in the industry. (For a personal demo of contract AI in action – and a chance to give our NYC inspired bodega prize vending machine a go – come say hi to us at Americas Hall 1, Booth 2216)!

Whether you're attending Legalweek for the first or sixteenth time, here are our top five tips to help you get the most out of your conference experience.

Set up meetings ahead of time

Schedules tend to book up quickly at Legalweek. To make the most of your time at the conference, line up meetings and pre-schedule demos as much as possible.  Not sure where to start?  Review the Legalweek exhibitors and speakers page to see who’s attending. Then email or send a message on LinkedIn for appointments and pre-convention networking. Interested in meeting with Evisort? You can get in touch here.

Allot free time in your schedule

Although meetings and networking are important at Legalweek, you want to make sure you have enough room in your schedule to check out the booths and for running into people. Sometimes these unplanned-for interactions make for the best meetings.

Take notes on the business cards people give you

Following up is just as important as the meeting itself. People are more likely to respond to a follow-up email when it is personalized. You might be surprised, though, by how much you forget about your interaction with a person if you don’t write the information down immediately. Keeping those notes on the back of a business card helps you connect the details with a name.

Select the right sessions

You want to be selective and purposeful in the sessions you attend. It’s important, when deciding what sessions to go to, to know what your goals are. For instance, for attendees looking to understand how generative AI is reshaping the legal landscape and how AI-powered contract management software can transform your own legal organization, we suggest you check out Evisort’s session on Wednesday, March 22nd at 11:30 am.

Legal and technology experts from Evisort will be speaking about the difference between AI and generative AI and the ways each can be used for legal applications.  Attendees will walk away with a deeper understanding of legal technology and how teams are already achieving real results with these new capabilities.

Expect to have fun

From cocktail parties to informal coffee meetups, Legalweek offers the opportunity to interact with some of the best legal tech minds. Take advantage of the parties and luncheons to mingle and pick each other’s brains. And with all the socialization, walking and packed schedules, don’t forget to pack comfortable shoes!
